Writing down helps with understanding many things about yourself including your emotions. Every time you feel a hard emotion, but you don't know the reason of it, write it down and answer some questions:
After that, write anything you want to be written, analyse your day or write down the thoughts that appeared in your head. Reread your note and think again what could trigger your emotion. Even if it doesn't work now, it will work one day, thanks to regular practice.
Note: Whenever you feel bad, start controlling your emotions before they control you.
