How to fix ERR_CONNECTION_RESET (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS) (Windows)

Maybe incorrect proxy settings are one of the causes for ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. The best option would be disabling them. To disable the proxy settings, please do the following:

1. Go to the start menu and type Internet Properties;
2. Click on the Connections tab and then on LAN settings;
3. Uncheck the check box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN;
4. Check the check box next to Automatically detect settings.

Setting the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit - you can find more information about it on searchnetworking.techtarget.com) may help you fix the ERR_CONNECTION_RESET error. To set it, follow the steps below:

1. Open the start menu, type Network and Sharing Center and click on it once it appears in the search results;
2. Write down the name of your Wi-Fi/Ethernet adapter you are connected to (don't write the name of the router/ISP);
3. Open the start menu, type command prompt, right-click on it once it appears in the search results and select Run as administrator;
4. Type the command below and press enter:
   
   netsh interface IPv4 set subinterface “network adapter name you wrote in step 2” mtu=1472 store=persitent
   
   
5. Close the command prompt, restart the browser and check if you still get the error message.

The following sequence of commands can help you fix ERR_CONNECTION_RESET easily. All you need to do is the following:

1. Go to the start menu and type command prompt;
2. Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator (and enter your username and password, if asked);
3. Type the following commands pressing Enter after typing each one:
   
   ipconfig /flushdns
   nbtstat –r
   netsh int ip reset
   netsh winsock reset
   
   
4. Restart the web browser and try accessing the website again.
