Maybe the antenna is not plugged in your TV. Without the antenna plugged in the TV's tuner, you won't be able to find any TV channels. Also, ensure that the antenna is firmly plugged in.
Some TVs are unable to find TV channels when they are set to scan for channels manually, i.e. in the Automatic search mode. Try scanning for channels manually, by entering the channel's frequency in TV's channel settings.
You can obtain the channel frequencies by contacting the operator, or on their website.
Turn off the cable box and turn it on after a few minutes. Alternatively, unplug the cable box from the power outlet and plug it back in after a few moments.
Maybe they have temporarily switched off their systems, as part of regularly-scheduled maintenance or there might be a hardware defect they are not aware of. Call them on their customer support number and let them know about this issue.
Maybe the antenna cable is bent or cut off. Inspect it carefully and if you find a cut part, replace the cable. If you are subscribed to a cable TV operator, contact them and they will do this for you.
Maybe the antenna isn't plugged in the cable TV box's input port (usually labeled as RF IN), which would explain why you can't find TV channels.
You won't be able to pick up TV channel if the antenna plug (connector) is detached from the coaxial (antenna) cable. Double-check if and ensure that the connector is firmly attached to the cable.
If you are sure that your TV, set-top box or cable TV box work fine, but you still can't find channels, replacing the antenna cable is what you need to do, in order to resolve this problem.
All you need to do is to turn off the TV and turn it on after a minute or two. Also, you can unplug it from the power outlet and plug it back in after a few minutes.
If you are unable to pick up TV channels on the cable TV box and you have tried everything else to resolve this issue, but without any success, consider resetting the cable TV box and rescanning for channels.
By resetting the cable TV box (this option can be found in the main menu), you will reset its settings, one of which might be the one that prevented you from finding TV channels.
Note: If you are not sure where to find the reset option, consult the box's manual.
If you have tried everything else to resolve this issue, but unsuccessfully, consider buying a new TV. Alternatively, you can buy a set-top box and use it to pick up TV channels.
If there is nothing wrong with channel reception and the signal is strong, but you still can't find channels, take your TV to a repair shop as it might be a hardware-related issue with it, specifically with the TV tuner.
If you are subscribed to a cable-TV operator and you are unable to find channels, you need to ensure that your TV is set to search DVB - C channels, because TVs are usually set to search DVB-T(2) channels, by default. You can change this in the TV's settings, under channel installation (or a similar phrase).
Maybe the current position where your antenna is placed, is not good enough for picking up TV signal. Try moving the antenna to a different and higher position and then try rescanning for TV channels.
CRT TVs are able to pick up only analogue signals, not digital ones. If there isn't analogue signal in the air, you will need to buy a set-top box, i.e. a device which will be able to pick up the digital signals.
When buying a set-top box, ensure that it supports DVB-T2.
If your TV has not malfunctioned and its antenna connector is good, consider performing a factory reset of your TV and then, rescan for channels.
Note: If you are not sure where to find the reset option, consult the TV's manual.
If the TV's antenna connector is loose, or misplaced it won't transmit the signal to the TV tuner. In this case, all you need to do is to resolder the connector back to the TV tuner, using a soldering iron.
The wisest course of action would be to take your TV to a repair shop and have them repair the connector as the TV tuner is very sensitive and can be easily damaged.
Most of the indoor antennas have a signal booster which strengthens the antenna's capacity. In order for it to work, the antenna's power cable needs to be plugged in a power outlet. Make sure that the antenna's cable is plugged in a power outlet and that the antenna's LED indicator glows and then scan for channels.
If there are many obstacles between you and the tower, i.e. the transmitter of TV channels, and you can't pick up TV channels, consider subscribing to a cable TV provider.
Maybe the indoor antenna is not strong enough to pick up TV channels. In this case, the wisest course of action would be to install an outdoor antenna.
Maybe the cable TV box suffered a hardware defect which cannot be resolved. In this case, contact the operator you are subscribed to and ask them for replacement.
If you failed to find channels on the set-top box and there is nothing wrong with the antenna, buy a new set-top box, because your old one might be broken. To be on the safe side, test it on another place first (on a different antenna) and if the result remains unchanged, the set-top box is what you need to replace.
Turn off the set-top box and turn it back on after a few minutes and then try scanning for channels. Alternatively, you can unplug the set-top box from the power outlet and plug it back in after a few minutes.
