The 2017 version of the Microsoft Surface Pro is a stylish convertible featuring a passively cooled Intel Core i5-7300U (15W) instead of the usual Intel core m series, making it one of the most powerful silent laptops in the market! The cameras are very good and support Windows Hello and the touchscreen is bright, with high contrast and excellent color coverage.

The battery life is impressive! It easily beats the older Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core m3 (only 4.5W) and is proof that Microsoft can even beat Apple in power management optimizations.

The HP Elite x2 1012 G2 is HP Inc.'s current flagship detachable for businesses. The battery life is good at around 15 hours of runtime, but can't really match its bigger brother's, the HP EliteBook 1030 x360 G2 (23+ hours!).

You can even go towards the 2000$ price point for the rare 512GB model... but since this computer is probably the best business detachable notebook in the market; the steep price is totally worth every single penny.

The EliteBook x360 1020 G2 is a great example of the merging between sleek consumer designs and feature-heavy business configurations. It's inarguably faster and thinner than older the 1020 G1, but not without some cutbacks that longtime EliteBook owners may lament like the lack of docking station, TrackPoint or ports selection.

The jump from the 4.5W Intel Core M5-5Y75 to the more powerful 15W Intel Core i7-7600U (at this time the most powerful dual core mobile Intel Processor to date) is one if not the main benefit of this new revision.   

The EliteBook x360 1020 G2 has also display features found on no other business notebook of its size! It even includes the option for a bright 120 Hz 700 nit panel. HP SureView (Which dims the screen to other people passing by to keep the user's work safe from unwanted viewers) is the other exclusive feature but, sadly, there are some strange characteristics regarding brightness at certain viewing angles and a slightly grainy glossy display. Nonetheless, users who are accustomed to carrying dongles and adapters can equally exploit the benefits of both laptop and tablet mode and will not be disappointed with this admittedly attractive business machine.

This relatively inexpensive high-end 2-in-1 convertible which packs the usual impressive build quality HP is known for.

The Acer Spin 5 is an inexpensive 360° convertible laptop. While not extremely powerful because of its relatively slow 6th Gen Intel Core i3-6100U, the Acer Spin 5 features an impressive battery life and always operates coolly and quietly. Thanks to its winning price/performance ratio and build quality, the Lenovo ThinkPad 13 2017 is one of the best choices for an entry-level business laptop! Small & Medium Enterprise users will find a powerful little office machine. The only serious drawback may be the lack of a Smart Card reader, if that's your case and you still need a business laptop under 14" it might be better for you to pay twice more for the Lenovo ThinkPad 13's main rival the HP Elitebook 820 G4.
