When you connect a TV to the computer, it will be treated either as Display 1 (if you connect it to the main VGA/DVI port) or Display 2 (if you connect it to the HDMI port). If Display 2 is disabled on the computer, you TV won't get picture.
To enable the Display 2, follow the steps below:

Maybe the graphic card driver is damaged, by a virus or another third-party software. All you need to do is to reinstall the driver. Firstly uninstall the already installed driver (see the don't know how to uninstall a program guide) and then download and install a new one.
